HIFraser is proud to be the first Australian company qualified to supply parts for US Virginia class submarines through the Australian Submarine Agency’s Defence Industry Vendor Qualification Program (DIVQ) – supporting advanced manufacturing, creating high-value jobs and strengthening Australia’s security through the AUKUS partnership.

DIVQ is an Australian initiative and key priority in Australia’s AUKUS Submarine Industry Strategy. Its purpose is to fast-track the qualification of Australian products for inclusion in US and UK submarine supply chains, ensuring Australian companies and workers play a central role in this long-term capability upgrade. To support integration into the Virginia class submarine supply chain and assist with their construction in the US, the Australian Submarine Agency created the DIVQ program, in collaboration with AUKUS partners.

HIFraser is now qualified to supply three valve types and pipe fittings to US submarine programs, for use in the construction and sustainment of Virginia class submarines.

HIFraser achieved this qualification by meeting the rigorous engineering, quality and security benchmarks required by the United States shipbuilders. This qualification enables us to compete for contracts to supply a range of valves for the submarines – the world’s most advanced conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered attack submarines and the first of our kind to join the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet.

As we celebrate 70 years of excellence, HIFraser proudly demonstrates its ongoing commitment to strengthening Australia’s sovereign capability through the DIVQ program. Meeting stringent qualification standards reinforces our dedication to delivering critical systems, ensuring our expertise provides lasting value across the AUKUS submarine supply chain.
